I noticed in the trane literature that the xv95 has a variable speed inducer like my current xv90 but the s9v2 has a 2 speed inducer.
A pressure switch is designed to sense the negative pressure created by the draft inducer motor during the furnace startup and to shut down the furnace ignition if the air pressure is inadequate.
If i were to replace this with a new trane model would it be the xv95 or the s9v2 that would be the comparable unit.
If the ohm meter comes back with an open line reading the switch is bad and needs replaced.
The ohm meter should read very close to zero.
